Safari

It’s 7am and it’s safari day. I had booked a one day safari going to the Tangora National Park but it was almost 2 hr bouncing around in the Safari Jeep before we arrived at the National Park entrance gate.

The day was pretty straight forward, drive around in a Safari Jeep and hope that we might see some wild animals, as it is not guaranteed. Fortunately the safari guide new where the animals where. This elephant didn’t take to kindly to us being in his way and started to charge....a tense moment.

The giraffes move so gracefully and were not intimidated by us.

It was a great day and an amazing experience, my only disappointing moment was the pictures I took of a pride of lions that we spotted 50 yards away from our safari truck where out of focus.

At lunch time we stopped at the designated picnic area within the national park where all the safari jeeps arrived with the tourist to have their pack lunches, but I don’t think many of them where aware that the monkeys were lying in wait to swoop down from the trees to steel their food if they were not paying attention. Typically there was one person who was being picked on by the monkeys and the lady was running around the picnic spot screaming... a little over the top!

However this little monkey had baby attached so wasn’t terrorising the tourists.

At the end of the safari I was taken to a Masai village to see how this tribe live. I was shown around by the chiefs son and it was a real eye opener on how these people live. He then asked me to join in on the tribal dance....what a laugh!!!

Finally we got back to the lodge, an exhausting day, but back on the road tomorrow,
